About Babies Teething
Around two months of age babies start the teething stage. This is similar to mouths sometimes. They start to drool and when you notice that they are drooling you should put a bib on them to stop any irritation that would be due to the wetness.
When your baby is holding a rattle they would also be old enough to grip a teething ring. It is a good idea to have a few in the fridge for when your baby starts to fuss. This can be considered the same as puppies most of the time. It is not a very great idea to freeze the teething ring because it could cause the babies gums to be frost bit.
Usually the first tooth will appear around six to nine month. But if you or any of the siblings of your baby has had teeth come out at an earlier age your baby may also. No matter what, when that tooth come out it will need to be cleaned. It is easy to clean your baby’s teeth using a washcloth or a soft toothbrush.
When your child has many teeth that have erupted you can begin to introduce flossing. When your child tries to floss it will teach them some fine motor skills. Studies done by the American Dental Association have proved that; tooth brushing alone only removes about forty percent of food that will stick to them. Of course this has nothing to do with babies usually. When flossing is not done daily cavities will appear sooner.
Children should see their dentist two times in a year. Your child should see their dentist when they are able to sit for as long as ten minutes. But this should be done by the time that they turn three.
